
Following Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ announcement of its 51-100 extended rankings, the 13th annual awards ceremony announcing the countdown from 50-1 was held in Seoul on March 25, 2025.

Japan and Thailand led the pack with nine entries each, being crowned the hot dining destinations in the region. Living up to its expectations was Bangkok, with Gaggan walking away with the top honor.
Restaurants from Singapore and Hong Kong nabbed seven spots respectively, e.g., Odette, Meta, Seroja, Mono, Caprice, Ando, Neighborhood, as well as Estro making its first ever appearance at No.32.
Seoul – acting as the host city – also has a respectable showing with four restaurants cracking the list, Mingles, Onjium, Eatanic Garden, 7th Door.
The Chinese mainland has a robust presence snagging five spots. In Shanghai, there were four regular establishments: Fu He Hui, Ling Long, 102 House, Meet The Bund – jumping up 36 places to the 14th spot and securing the best restaurant in mainland China. In Beijing, Lamdre made a new entry at No.50.
Other cities represented in the ranking included Macau with Chef Tam’s Seasons- moving up a whopping 36 spots sitting at No.9, Taiwan which claimed two spots – Logy and JL Studio, New Delhi and Manila.
Making its debut on the list rounded out seven , like Crony and Maz.
In the special awards category, The Sustainable Restaurant Award went to Locavore NXT . The One to Watch Award, which recognizes a restaurant with potential to rise, was given to Farm Lore. Eatanic Garden received the award for highest new entry, Chef Tam’s Seasons became the recipient of the highest climber award.
Additional individual recognitions comprised Dej Kewkacha who accepted the Best Pastry Chef Award, Kazutaka Ozawa taking home the title for Best Sommelier, Chef Chudaree Tam Debhakam for the Best Female Chef Award, and Chef Vicky Cheng appointed with the Chefs’ Choice Award.
The “Best in Country” awards, which also applies to regions, represented with August in Indonesia, Toyo Eatery in Manila, Masque in Mumbai, Logy in Taipei, Meet The Bund in Shanghai, Mingles in Seoul, Odette in Singapore and The Chairman in Hong Kong.
The prestigious list was finalized by a gender-balanced panel of 300-plus experts from Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy comprising food writers, critics, chefs, restaurateurs and regional culinary leaders.
